Natrosol™ HE 3KB modified hydroxyethylcellulose (HEC) is a highly efficient, nonionic polymer developed to provide rheology control of latex paints.NatrosolM HE 3KB HEC exhibits excellent enzyme resistance. As with all NatrosolM products, Natrosol™ HE 3KB HEC provides consistent thickening and excellent package stability.
Unlike synthetic associative rheology modifiers such as hydrophobically modified alkali-soluble emulsions (HASE), NatrosolM HE 3KB HEC offers less sensitivity to pH, surfactants, and other paint additives.

Application

Natrosol HE 3KB HEC is a nonionic water-soluble polymer. The hydrophobic modification consists of long- chain alkyl groups, chemically bound to the polymer backbone. The physical properties of hydroxyethylcellulose(HEC) and hydrophobically modified HEC(HMHEC) are essentially different. The nonionic structure of NatrosolTM HE 3KB HEC is an advantage in latex paints, Natrosol™ HE 3KB HEC contributes to significant property improvements to latex paints, such as:

● outstanding spatter resistance

● enhanced brushing viscosity, therefore better film building

● improved leveling with good sag resistance

● excellent storage stability

● biostable and enzyme resistant

Packaging and storage

NatrosolM HE 3KB HEC is of U.S. origin, and is packaged in foil-lined multiwall bags of 50 lbs. net. Natrosolm HE 3KB HEC is a non-perishable powder. It is recommended to use the product in rotation on first-in first-out basis. The product should be stored under dry and clean conditions in its original packaging and away from heat. The product is hygroscopic. The packaging is selected in a way to avoid ingress of moisture, but the water content of the packed product will/may increase if not stored dry.
