Aquaflow™ NHS-300E-Additive-JOINING CHEM

Aquaflow NHS-300E rheology modifier is a solvent-free, nonionic synthetic associative thickener(NSAT) designed for waterborne paint and coatings and is compatible with most latex resin systems. This thickener provides efficient ICl viscosity development, excellent film build and favorable brush drag. It is intended to be used in combination with a low-shear effective NSAT(KU driver) for the optimal balance of Stormer (KU) and ICI viscosity.
Aquaflow NHS-300E rheology modifier is compatible with acrylic, styrene-acrylic, vinyl-acrylic and vinyl acetate ethylene(VAE) latexes, and can be used in interior and exterior paint formulations. In low-PVC paints made with small particle size hydrophobic latexes, it can be the sole or primary rheology modifier. In other paints, using Aquaflow NHS-300E NSAT withNLS-series or XLS-series NSATs or NatrosolTM Plus hydrophobically-modified hydroxyethylcellulose (HMHEC) often provides the optimum balance of high- and low-shear viscosity.
Aquaflow NHS-300E rheology modifier has been specifically formulated with a biocide package designed for full compliance with the European Biocide Directive (EBD 2017) and meets or exceeds virtually all EU EcoLabel requirements for waterborne paints and coatings.In addition, Aauaflow NHS-300E is listed with the US EPA as an INERT ingredient for non-food applications.

Incorporation

AquaflowM NHS-300E NSAT is typically added to the letdown. When Aquaflow NHS-300E NSAT are used together with NLS-series or XLS-series in small particle size latex paints, Aquaflow NHS-300E NSAT should be added first.

Volatile Organic Compounds(VOC)

Aquaflow NHS-300E rheology modifier is formulated as solvent-free. As such, this product will have negligible contribution to the voc content of formulated paints and coatings as determined by US EPA Reference Method 24.

Testing in accordance with ASTM D-6886 (v12) via Gas Chromatography typically identifies trace levels of voc below 0.4% w/w.

APEO Content

Aquaflow NHS-300E rheology modifier does not contain any alkyl phenol ethoxylates (APEOs).

Packaging and Storage

Aquaflow NHS-300E NSAT is supplied in plastic drums of 200 kilos net or in nonreturnable IBCs (totes) of 999 kilos net. It is recommended to use the product in rotation on a first-in-first-out basis. The product should be stored under dry and clean conditions and protected from temperature extremes(50°-120°F/10°-48℃) in its original packing away from direct sunlight and/or heat.
